Introducing the Rochelle Regional Retail Alliance

In an effort to expand the commercial and retail base in Rochelle, I am pleased to announce the creation of a new retail initiative formed by the City of Rochelle and the Greater Rochelle Economic Development Corporation (GREDCO) to assist developers, brokers, and retailers with the economic development process in Rochelle. Economic Development appreciates your interest in our community and hope that the Alliance will serve to facilitate a level of service unmatched by other municipalities.

The Rochelle Regional Retail Alliance is committed to developing sound strategies for appropriate retail growth to serve the Greater Rochelle Region. Ours is a growing, progressive Midwestern community where such amenities as technology, transportation, and City-owned utilities allow Rochelle to position itself to become a destination location for regional retail and commercial services.

The Alliance was created to focus on ways to recruit new retail, assist existing merchants, and encourage local entrepreneurs to invest in Rochelle. The group is committed to:

Assessing (assisting) the needs of developers;
assembling sites;
expansion of current retail;
developing incentives;
marketing with a regional approach;
teamwork;
and improving the quality of life.

With the City’s emphasis on retail growth and its history of successful industrial development, the Alliance is a visible pledge to the community that Rochelle will be marketed aggressively as a regional destination shopping and dining location. More than twenty neighboring communities have been identified by Buxton, the industry leader in customer analysis for the retail industry, as a part of our secondary trade area. These markets along with large numbers of daily transient and truck traffic and a mobile daytime population, makes Rochelle a unique and growing retail market.
